Studio Policy

We  are a professional dance academy. All rules apply the same as if you  were in school. Children must sit quietly while waiting on siblings who  are dancing. Running in the studio, tumbling, horse play and noisy  behavior is not allowed. We must insist. We have students who work on  their homework, parents who are working, as well as voice, piano and  dance in session. High noise levels disrupt the classes and the  instructor.

PLEASE MAINTAIN A LIBRARY ATMOSPHERE.

PLEASE NOTE: IF AT ANY TIME ENROLLMENT FALLS BELOW THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF STUDENTS. THE CLASS WILL BE CANCELLED. MONIES PAID IN ADVANCE WILL BE

REFUNDED.

***PLEASE NOTE*** Parents must bring the students into the studio. Teachers will take responsibility for students at the start of the class. PLEASE, for the safety of your children, do not leave them unattended. If someone other than the parent is picking up your child after class, please notify the office personnel. We do not permit the children to exit the studio unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. If you have given your child permission to leave the studio alone, please notify the office.

 CODE  OF CONDUCT:

DANCERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT CLASS ON TIME AND PREPARED IN  PROPER DANCE ATTIRE (SEE CLASS ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS).

INSTRUCTORS  RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISMISS ANY DANCER WHOSE ATTITUDES ARE  UNSATISFACTORY. WE PROMOTE ALL DANCERS TO TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT,  SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR BULLYING!!!

CHILDREN MUST BE POTTY TRAINED. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

CHILDREN MUST BE 3.5 YEARS OF AGE BY SEPTEMBER 1ST.

Payments/Late Fees/Payment Plan

A payment plan is available for class and lesson tuition. The payment plan will divide the total deferred amount into 9 equal installments beginning September 1st and concluding May 1st of said year. There are no additional fees to utilize the payment plan. We allow a 10 day grace period.

Students on a payment plan receive a monthly statement and are requested to return the payment by the 1st of the month. Payment may be made by cash, check, money order, debit card, or credit card. Checks are to be made payable to "Rhythm Studio and Dance Wear". A late fee of $25.00 will be added to each past due payment. Tuition payments that are more than 45 days late will cause suspension or discontinuation of classes or lessons.

If  at any time during the year you have any questions/concerns about your  bill, please contact Diane at the Rhythm Studio office.

Registration Fees

Each  student is charged an annual, non-refundable Registration Fee of $25.  The period covered by the fee extends from September through May of said  year. The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration.

Costume Fees

$65.00 per class. You will not be asked to purchase multiple costumes for the same class (unless specified in the class description). Costume fees are due in full by November 1st of said year.  If we do not receive this costume fee by the due  date, a costume will not be ordered for your child. No exceptions.

PLEASE NOTE: ACCOUNTS MUST BE PAID IN FULL IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN YEAR-END RECITALS, CONCERTS AND PERFORMANCES.

SUMMER CLASSES AND PRIVATE LESSONS must be paid in full at the time of registration. The payment plan is not available for summer classes and lessons.

TUITION - SEE THE PAGE "TUITION 2024"

Attendance/Tardiness/Missed Class Policy

Regular  attendance is expected of all students. Good attendance is imperative,  as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. The instructors  cannot jeopardize their responsibilities to the rest of the class for  one student. Please make every effort to have your student at every  class and on time. Tardy students will be asked to sit out the class.

 Sitting Out

If  a student is unable to dance, but is feeling well enough to attend  class, we expect them to participate by observing so that they will retain  key elements of the class.

Students who feel ill, have a fever, or are  exhibiting "contagious" cold symptoms should stay home and rest. Cases  of prolonged absence due to illness or injury should be discussed with  the teacher.

Students  are charged for all classes for which they register, including those missed through student absence. The director will review class  cancellations due to excessive inclement weather. If make-up classes are  determined to be necessary, students and their families will be  notified. Classes missed due to instructor cancellation will be made up  unless a substitute was provided or if there are enough unused inclement  weather days left to cover the absence. Refunds are not applicable to  students who cannot attend scheduled make up classes.

Classes  will be finished prior to final performances in May. Students who miss  excessive classes or lessons may be removed at any point from  performances and recitals at the discretion of the teacher and/or the  director.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

If a student  discontinues instruction during the Fall/Spring Session, the student or  parent/guardian must notify both the instructor and the Rhythm Studio  office at least one week in advance of the withdrawal. (See below for  tuition charges)

Refund of tuition will be determined based upon the instructor’s attendance record of the student's participation, money  received on the student account, and tuition charges through the week  of withdrawal and/or one additional week if advance notice was not  given.

Registration Fees are nonrefundable. Costume fees become nonrefundable once the order for the costumes has been placed.

Requests  for refunds can be made by phone, in writing or via e-mail to the  Rhythm Studio and Dance Wear office. Please allow four to six weeks for  the processing of the refund.

Inclement Weather

In the  event of inclement weather which results in the closing of Rhythm  Studio, you will receive an email notification. The decision to close will be made by 1:00 pm. An e-mail will be sent first. The following  will have a posted weather announcement:

Dismissal

Rhythm  Studio reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any  student from classes, lessons, recitals and performances because of  frequent absences, disciplinary reasons, delinquent tuition payments  and/or parental noncompliance.

Cancellation

Rhythm  Studio reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient  enrollment. In the event a class is canceled, a full refund or credit of  all fees and tuition paid will be issued within four to six weeks.

Two waiting rooms have been provided for parents who wish to wait for their  student and for students who have multiple classes. The proximity of  the waiting rooms to the dance studios and the voice/piano studio  requires that the noise level in these areas be kept at a minimum.  (QUIET LIKE A LIBRARY).

THE NOISE DISTURBS BOTH THE INSTRUCTOR AND YOUR CHILD

These  rooms are also used by parents and students to do homework/work. Please  be respectful and maintain a library atmosphere (quiet).

This  also applies to siblings who are waiting with the parents. No running  and loud play. Bring quiet activities to occupy them.

THESE ROOMS ARE NOT PLAY AREAS.

NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE CARPETED AREAS!!

 Studio Rules

 1.  Do not touch the glass mirrors, lean up against them, etc. This is for  your safety. Mirrors can shatter and fall from applied pressure and may  result in personal injury. Students will be asked not to touch.

 2. We have purchased some new mirrors that are made with a Mylar type material. Although the new mirrors will not break, the material can be punctured. Students will be asked not to touch.

3. Each student is expected to wear proper attire for the class. See the Dress Code and Attire. THE TEACHER RESERVES THE RIGHT  TO ASK A STUDENT TO SIT OUT THE CLASS IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY ATTIRED, BOTH THE CLOTHING AND THE HAIR.

4. If a student misbehaves in class, continually disrupts the class or is  disrespectful to the teacher, staff or other students (bullying), they  will be asked to sit the class out and the parent will be notified. If  this behavior continues the student will be removed from the program.

5. Please use the restroom prior to the start of class.

6. No food or drinks are to be brought into the studio. This includes  flavored water. ONLY WATER BOTTLES ARE PERMITTED. If the student has  brought a snack to eat between classes, we ask that they eat in the  non-carpeted waiting room.

7. PLEASE. NO STREET SHOES ARE TO BE WORN  ON THE DANCE FLOORS. DANCE SHOES SHOULD NOT BE WORN ON THE STREET. (THIS  DAMAGES YOUR SHOES AND OUR FLOORS).

8. No gum chewing allowed in any class

Note Parents  and friends are not permitted to stay and watch classes. We have found that doing this minimizes distractions and puts less pressure on the  dancers. Don’t worry though! We have insured adequate supervision for  every class and parents may wait in the waiting rooms.
