Class Attire

                                             PLEASE NOTE:

1. Street shoes are not dance shoes.

2. Street shoes are not to be worn on the dance floor as it damages our floors.

3. Dance shoes are not to be worn on the street, as this damages the dance shoe and in turn, damages our floors.

 • A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.

HAIR IS TO  BE IN A BUN FOR ALL BALLET CLASSES

• Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture,  alignment, etc.

• Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.

• Jewelry must not be loose or dangling.

• Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking and appearance.

• No loose fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts (they are not dance attire).

• No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the 

individual teacher.

• Adults may wear comfortable work-out attire for class.

• Pajama bottoms and boxers are never allowed.

• Some of the classes require a black leotard. Check the dress code for your specific class.

• THE TEACHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ASK A STUDENT TO SIT OUT THE CLASS IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY ATTIRED, BOTH THE CLOTHING AND THE HAIR.

Acro Attire
Girls: Leotard, tights. Shorts are permitted.
Boys: T-shirt and jazz pants.
Bare feet.

No bare legs and hair must be securely tied up. Ponytails are allowed. No Baggie clothing.

Turns and Leaps:

Girls:  Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black  jazz shoes. Must have a black leotard  and black jazz pants.
Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs.

Pre-Ballet/Creative Movement
Girls:  Any color leotard and pink tights, pink canvas or leather ballet shoes,  dance skirts are allowed. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLACK  LEOTARD IN YOUR WARDROBE AS YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WEAR BLACK IN THE  RECITAL.
Boys: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black leather ballet shoes.

Classical Ballet Attire
Girls  Teen/Adult: Any primary color leotard, pink tights and pink canvas or  leather ballet slippers. Short dance skirts are allowed. PLEASE NOTE  THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLACK LEOTARD IN YOUR WARDROBE AS YOU MAY BE  ASKED TO WEAR BLACK IN THE RECITAL.
Boys/Men: Black tights or dance pants, black or white solid color T-shirt, and black leather ballet slippers

Hip Hop Attire
Girls Teen/Adults: Any color top/t-shirt, black jazz pants or leggings and black jazz sneakers. (No crop tops).
Boys/Men: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz sneakers.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs. Blue jeans are not allowed.

Jazz Attire
Girls  Teen/Adults: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz  pants, black jazz shoes. Must have a black leotard  and black jazz  pants.
Boys/Men: Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black jazz shoes.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs.

Lyrical Attire
Girls: Any primary solid color leotard and footless or transitional tights. Jazz pants or dance skirts are allowed.
Boys/Men: Black dance pants, any solid color T-shirt.
Students dance in bare feet.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs.

Modern/Contemporary Attire
Girls: Any primarily solid color leotard and footless or transitional tights. Black jazz pants and black leggings are allowed. Shorts are allowed to be worn over the tights/leotards.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BLACK LEOTARD IN YOUR WARDROBE AS YOU MAY BE ASKED TO WEAR BLACK IN THE RECITAL.
Boys/Men: Black tights or dance pants, black or white solid color T-shirt.
Students dance in bare feet or open modern sandals.
Note: No bare legs and long hair must be securely tied up - ponytails are allowed. No bare midriffs.

Tap
Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, tights or jazz pants, black tap shoes, dance skirts are allowed.
Boys/Men:  Any solid color T-shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black tap shoes.

Music Theater
Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting top, any color tights or black jazz pants, black character shoes, or black jazz shoes.
Short dance skirts are allowed.
Boys: Any color shirt and black dance pants or sweatpants, black leather ballet shoes or black jazz shoes.
