Sharon Kite was born and raised in Winchester, VA. She began dancing at age five and studied locally until graduating high school in 1994. Sharon attended Shenandoah University and graduated in 2000 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. While working on her degree, Sharon taught for Vostrikov's Academy of Ballet, as a Tap and Jazz instructor for two years. In 1999, she went to Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy and taught there for twelve years.
In 2011, Sharon opened Rhythm Studio, where she is the Dance Director, and co-owns with Brian and Angel Amos.
Teaching courses have included Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Music Theatre, Irish Step dance, and various adult classes. In addition to private school instruction, Sharon has taught many recreational dance classes through the PAVAN program which incorporates the public school system. She also taught at Jefferson Count High School for 2 years as dance teacher where she implemented a new dance team at the school. In 2001, Sharon studied Irish Step at the University of Limerick, Ireland. She has studied with various pioneers of dance throughout her dance career while traveling to New York City during the summer to attend teacher training and seminars. During the summer of 1999, Sharon was level 1 certified Dance Educator of America in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. In 2011, she was certified in Phusia, which is a new form of group dance fitness. Sharon continues her education at the Dance Teacher Summits in New York City.
Kerry's love of dance started when she was very young. At age five, she was enrolled in her first Ballet class. Her love of the arts continued to grow throughout her childhood into adulthood.
Kerry graduated from Shenandoah University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. She also participated in an academic exchange with Ulyanovsk State University in Ulyanovsk, Russia where she earned a certification for her studies. After graduation, she accepted a position with the University. Mrs. Silva taught many genres of dance for Shenandoah University's Arts Academy for ten years. In 2013, Mrs. Silva was offered the position of Ballet Director of Rhythm Studio. After much consideration she accepted and has been thrilled with her choice ever since joining the team!
Kerry's trip to Russia was her first time abroad and it lit an even greater passion for dance and travel. Since this initial trip she has had the opportunity to travel and study throughout the world. She tries to bring an appreciation for the world- its people, culture, art, and history into her classroom.
In 2005 Kerry married her husband Pablo Silva. They have been fortunate to travel the world together on many adventures. However, their greatest adventure is their day to day lives with their two beautiful children Maddex and Milandra.
Alexis Kite-Accornero started dancing as a small child. She has studied under the direction of her mother, Sharon Kite, as well many other local teachers in the area.
Alexis has studied many genres of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary, Music Theater, and Hip Hop. She has been involved with her church's dance and drama team where she has choreographed routines and performed in competitions. Alexis has choreographed several routines for Rhythm Studio that has been performed throughout the community at various events.
Alexis travels frequently to New York City to attend the Dance Teacher's Summit to further her knowledge and to study with instructors such as Frank Hatchett, Mia Michaels, Travis Wall, and Mandy Moore. Alexis strives to teach with excellence and give every student a chance to be the dancer they dream to be.
Dancing since the age of three, Tracy has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Ballroom at Inwood Performing Arts. She was a member of the Inwood Dance Company for four years and has received the Outstanding Jazz Award as well as achieving various Royal Academy of Dancing levels.
Tracy composed private choreography for an 18th Birthday Adulthood Celebration. The choreography composed was for a country line dancing party, which consisted of teaching the teenagers and adults the steps to several country line dances.
Tracy continued her dance education at Rhythm Studio as an adult Hip Hop student.
During her high school years, Tracy was a member of the Cheerleading Team, the Goodtimes Show Choir, as well as the High School Flag Corps. She performed a dance solo with the Flag Corps her senior year.
Tracy graduated Salutatorian in 1997, from Martinsburg High School. She continued her education at the West Virginia University and graduated Cum Laude in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority from 1998 - 2001.
Additional dance experience includes Choreographer for KidZone Worship Team with Fellowship Bible Church, Winchester, VA., where she choreographs motions to various worship songs and teaches children ranging from the ages six to eighteen, as well as teaching adults.
Her experience working with children also includes assistant coach for the T-ball teams for Frederick County Little Leagues.
Amber Wesner has been dancing since she was three years old when she took her first Creative Movement class. Since that time, she also studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, Modern, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Gymnastics.
Prior to coming to Rhythm Studio, Amber most recently trained at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) in Carlisle, PA. She has also studied dance at First Position Dance Studio (FPDS), Billy Ross Dance Techniques, the Allen Hancock College Youth Dance Program, and at Shenandoah University while completing her Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Amber's teaching and choreography experiences include: implementing the Wellsboro Montessori Children's Center Summer Dance Program, dance instructor for the Wellsboro Area Parks and Recreation Dance Program, and dance teacher at First Position Dance Studio.
Amber was a founding member of the Physical Arts Alliance at FPDS, has performed at Disney World during the "Disney Performing Arts Days," and was a member of the Attitudes Dance Company. She has danced competitively at Star Quest International, "On Stage" America, and the NYC Dance Alliance. She has also completed the Curtain Call Summer Dance Program in New York City.
During class, Amber's focus is on technique, quality of movement, and musicality. She is excited to share her passion for dance with the students of Rhythm Studio!
